Robyn Rihanna Fenty (born February 20, 1988), better known by her stage name Rihanna, is a Barbadian singer, actress, and fashion designer. Born in Saint Michael, Barbados, her career began when she met record producer Evan Rogers in late 2003 and recorded demo tapes under his guidance. Her tape was sent to several record labels, and she subsequently signed a contract with Def Jam Recordings, which lasted until 2013.[1]

After the release of her seventh studio album, Unapologetic, the singer took a long hiatus from music. She cited her reason as "needing a break from it all." She continued saying, "the past seven years with Def Jam was both a blessing and a curse. I got the success and recognition I'd always dreamed of but I also lost a lot of myself and my happiness in that time. This break, however long it may last, will be my time to find myself again and decide where I go from here. Will I return to music? I don't know. We'll just have to see." [2]

After taking three years off to work on her eight album, as well as travel the world and partner with various fashion brands, the singer signed with Rockhard Entertainment in the fall of 2015.

Rihanna started her career with her debut album Music Of The Sun (2005) and it's followup A Girl Like Me (2006), but she rose to international prominence and became a household name with the release of her third studio album, Good Girl Gone Bad (2007), and its chart-topping lead single "Umbrella." She released her fourth studio album, Rated R, in November 2009, followed by another three albums released under Def Jam Recordings : Loud (2010), Talk That Talk (2011), and her first Billboard 200 number-one album Unapologetic (2012).
