In January 2016, following a heavily pulicised fallout with her previous label, Polydor, Fernandez-Versini left the label and signed to the up and coming worldwide label, Hurricane Records, who in turn promised to make her an international star. With that, the Geordie born songstress released her first ever worldwide single, Needle In My Heart. The song went on to become a top 10 hit and sold in excess of two million copies worldwide, becoming the best selling song of her entire career.

During the run up to her highly anticipated album Through My Eyes, the singer battled a heavily publicised battle with the media over weight concerns and visible stress and gaunt-like appearances. On the morning of her album release (March 12th), following the death of her close friend, Fernandez-Versini admitted herself into a remote rehabilitation facility and remains there to this day, she is expected to release her highly anticipated fifth studio album on May 31st!
